FEBRUARY
28: BUGO, MISAMIS ORIENTAL to SAN FRANCISCO
16 ctvs (2),
50 cts (4), 1 Peso stamps on commercial airmail cover to the US with printed
"Via TRANS PACIFIC AIR MAIL" in red and via "INEAC" pencil for the inter
Island Air Service service.
The BUGO to MANILA
pioneer flight by INAEC was made on NOVEMBER 4, 1935 (AAMC #105l, recorded
as ONLY 3 FLOWN). In the Chiong collection entitled PHILIPPINE AIR
MAILS and as with other Philippine flight collections and / or exhibits
on the covers on display are what we call philatelic in nature. I have
yet to see an INAEC commercial flown cover on display.
For the 1935
INAEC contract extension, this is only the third commercial cover that
I have seen in more than 30 years. Yes, they're that difficult and the
realized price on this one is a real bargain. |
